Another militant’s body recovered from encounter site in Pulwama, toll reaches three


    SRINAGAR: Police have recovered a third body from the debris of the destroyed houses in Pulwama village where an encounter took place on Monday.

    Official said that at Bahmnoo village two bodies had already been recovered on Monday adding that another was recovered today.

    The two slain militants were identified as Jehangir Ahmad of Chak Keller and Kifayat Ahmad Khanday of Bamnoo. The identity of the third militant is yet not known.

    At least three residential structures where the militants were holed up have been raised to ground. Police official said that the operation is over but the forces are still searching the debris for weapons.

    Pertinently a number of civilians were also injured in the day long operation. A Major Officer and a sub inspector of CRPF were also injured but were termed stable.
